Something Clever

Does anyone have short story suggestions for me?? 

I need something to illustrate for class and I’ve been looking through lists of classic short stories for an hour now (plus many more hours on previous days) and nothing has struck my fancy. 

I am being very picky. I’m looking for something where the main characters are women just because I have an easier time drawing them (Yes I should be stepping out of my comfort zone BLEHBLEHBLEHBLEH I GOT TOO MUCH WORK FOR THAT DON’T JUDGE ME) and also something not set in modern times? I wanna draw cool clothes. If it had anything to do with a culture that’s not american or british that would be cool too.
